Report on Family Hash 6.12.98A total of about 33 turned out for this 2.5 mile trail. No adults to check. The under 8s out first with a five minute start to pick up the white trail. The incentive was that for every piece of paper they retrieved there was a sweet. They were keen,,, as were the over 8s on the pink trail. The most picked was 14. The day was bright and sunny and the ground frozen but fairly flat. Martin H and Richard did a superb job with the trail and loops and everyone finished at the same time. Into the Mill House for a bevy and some food and a surprise visit from Father Christmas was a bonus.Photos Report on 24.nov.98From the Egerton Arms at Chelford. This was Dr. Rob's second trail in a month and it could NOT be muddier than the previous one. This was a correct assumption. The fog may have masked some of it though.. He found plenty to occupy us though with a few newly ploughed fields to add gravitas to our travels. His trademark cry of 'This pond was not here on Sunday' followed by his signature 45 mile run in. Well!! it wasn't raining and the pub was good. Report on 10.nov.98This was from the Romping Donkey at Hassell Green near Sandbach. The Lymm Bus was late as usual but hare, Brian spotted us coming in and took us up to the first check. The night was the usual for a Tuesday.. It had peed down all day but stopped for the important event between 7:30 and 9:30. This left it very soft underfoot. First we went down a walkway which was fairly dry and on to a canal bank. Brian put in plenty of looops and several deja-vu's to baffle us and only managed to lose 18 out of the 26 hashers. Several had run through an early check and got an early on-in and three had trailed in 15 minutes after the rest (one had the tail-end map otherwise we might have lost them and had to drink their beer) Lots of drinking then took place before we buggered off at 10:40 for home by midnight looking forward to the hash weekend in Derbyshire Report on Interhash98 Kuala LumpurWe were persuaded into it by Adrian L. in 1996 in order to get the $100 rego. He then decided not to go. Much was expected of this trip.. some fear and anticipation building up to the last minute Was KL safe (not Bloody Likely.. with 6000 hashers from round the world. It had No Chance) After all, 11 intrepid Cheshires were braving a large hash congress with none of us having even been to a Nash hash. Some had been out with other hashes at home and abroad, however, and told the tales of beer and trails and beer.... We had been warned!. His advice was spot on. Cheers
