Allostock.

  • The Three Greyhounds SJ729710 Map Link This pub is just beside Shakeley Mere to the west side of the M6. On the Holmes Chapel road it is at the junction of the B5081 and B5082. Coming from Knusford head out on the A50 towards Holmes Chapel and then turn right to Lower Peover on the B5081. Continue straight through and then just after crossing the M^ Shakeley Mere will be on the left with the Pub on your right at the Junction.
    Coming off the A556 Northwich bypass at Rudheath go down the B5082 through Lach Dennis and continue towards Holmes Chapel but stop before the M6.

Altrincham and Environs.

  • Altrincham
    • Regent Road Car Park - In Altrincham.SJ776876 Map LinkComing in along the A56 from the A556 or J7 of the M56 and go past the first traffic lights (Dunham to the left and Bowden to the right). Keep going along - watch the 30 limit as there is a camera - and when you reach the next lights take a right into Regent Road. Go down until you get to the first of the shops (a chemist on the right) and then after that turn right into the car park (free after 6:30). Go down towards the bottom and we will cluster there..
    • King George Nr Altrincham Football ground.SJ780872 Map Link Coming in along the A56 from the A556 or J7 of the M56 and right at the first traffic lights towards Bowden. Keep going along and when you reach the next lights go straight on. At the roundabout go straight on (leftish) into Altrincham and then turn right at the next Traffic lights. At teh second traffic ligh (with Tesco on your left) fork right. The road goes a bit narrow with cars the other direction having Right of Way - and keep on to the end. Turn right and pass the football ground on your left and the JW Lees pub is on the left.
    • The Nags Head. SJ740854 Map Link From Mere go along the A556. Just before you reach the Roundabout with the A56 to Lymm or to Altrincham and the junction with the M56 you will see the pub set off to the left below the main road. Pull in just before the roundabout and park in the lay-bye / approach road for the hash. Coming from Lymm direction turn right at the Altrincham Roundabout and right immediately to the pub.
    • The Orange Tree SJ768880 Head from Lymm Roundabout along the A56. Though the 40 and 30 mph limits with the speed cameras which work and pass the schools. Pass a large filling station on the left and the Orange Tree is on the left. If you have reached the Cresta Court you have gone too far.
    • Bay Malton SJ752888Map Link It is easy to get to says Allisdhair- follow the A56 into Altrincham, past the Cresta Court Hotel. Turn left into Oldfield Road opposite the George and Dragon Hotel. Follow Oldfield Road over a mini roundabout and through a speed restricting chicane then bear right as Oldfield Road becomes Seamons Road, past a row of shops on the right and over the narrow bridge over the canal, the pub is on the left.

    • The Bull SJ790858 Pub Link Go along the M56 towards Manchester and come off at J6 the A538 Wilmslow turn. Head left towards Hale Barns. Pass an arcade of shops on the right and you will come to a turn to the left just before the church - turn left and left into the pub carpark.

    • Jackson's Boat, SJ810925 Map Link Rifle Road, Sale In Sale go along Brooklands Road and turn left onto Marsland Road towards M60; go under motor way and continue on road signed to Deckers, Trafford Water Park and Jackson's Boat. Take right fork towards Jackson's Boat NOT left towards Deckers.
      Going east on M60 you have to go off M60 at A56 turning and run parallel and north of motorway until picking up A6144.
      Going west on M60 take exit 6 for A6144 and turn away from Sale, go under motorway and continue on road signed to Deckers, Trafford Water Park and Jackson's Boat. Take right fork towards Jackson's Boat NOT left towards Deckers. Pub is on Mersey at a dead end. Large car park on left.
  • Styal
    • The Ship Inn SJ837835 Map LinkGo along the M56 towards Marchester and come off at J5. Head towards Cheadle Royal. Go down the side of the airport and at the T junction at the end turn right down the A5166 towards Styal Take the 3rd ( or 4th) right and then right again into the Ship Car park

Alderley Edge

Go straight through Mottram and past the school to the T junction and the pub is on the right. From Prestbury head out to Alderley and if you reach Mottram you've gone past. Near Mottram Cross
  • The Wizard SJ859773 Into Alderley Edge from th A34 and East up the A535 to Macclesfield. The pub is up the hill handy for the old tin mines along the Edge itself.
  • The Oakwood SJ 833792. Map LinkThis pub is opposite Alderley Golf course on the B5085 between Mobberley and Alderley Edge
  • Royal Oak .Going North...Take the A34 to Alderley Edge. Turn right immediately before the bridge over the railway (if heading north). Continue for about two hundred metres until you come to the pub.

Alsager

    • Plough SJ783549Map Link The simplest route is to come down the M6 to Junction 16 and then (if you were heading south) go alll the way round and take the last exit towards Alsager. Go over the railway lines and then at the Traffic lights turn right. The pub is about 500m on the right. If you are coming down the A50 then go through Rode Heath and then ontto the A533 and next main left towards Alsager along the B5077 and keep your eyes open as you go about 3km

Turn South onto the A50 at the traffic lights. Continue to Rode Heath and turn right along the A533 towards Sandbach and the pub is by the canal

Beeston, Bickerton, Burwardsley and Peckforton and points south

    .. Set off the A49 this is the site of a cattle market and two castles. One is Beeston Castle a ruin with great views of the Cheshire plains through to Wales, the other a more recent pile called Peckforton Castle
  • Beeston Castle SJ552597 Map Link Set in rural South West Cheshire. This is fairly simple navigation as long as you are travelling south down the A49 from Tarporly. Down past Tarporley on the A49 you reach the Red Fox traffic lights and continue right along the A49. You will go down the hill and then under the narrow bridge near the cattle market. The pub is immediately on your right./li>
  • Bickerton
    The Poacher SJ523545 Map Link Set in rural South West Cheshire south west of Beeston there is a certain amount of up to the trails.Down the A49 until past Spurstow then turn right on to the A5016 and A534 towards Bickerton and Farndon.. About 3 km along on the south side of the road. Normally visited in summer months due to the longish drive for most of the pack. Good beer and views.
  • Broxton
    The Copper Mine SJ491544 Go along past the Bickerton Poacher on the A534 for another 3 km.
  • Beeston/Brassey Green
    The Shady Oak SJ533604 Map Link Go down the A49 Down past Tarporley on the A49 you reach the Red Fox traffic lights and continue right along the A49. About half a mile down on the right there is a turn-off to Tiverton - go through Hand Green onto Huxley Lane. After a mile turn left towards Beeston Castle down Bates Mill Lane and the pub is on the Canal.
  • Bunbury/Spurstow
  • The Elm Tree SJ565573Map Link Down the A49 towards Beeston. Go past the Wild Boar and on to the next crossroad but one and turn East toward Spurstow. The pub is at the next junction to Bunbury (I think). Burtonwood
  • The Dysart ArmsSJ568582 Map Link Go down the A49 to Tarporley and at the Red Fox continue straight on down the A51. At Alpraham turn right towards Bunbury and cross the Shropshire Union Canal. After about a kilometre pass the Church ( distinctive ) and the pub is soon after.
  • Burwardsley (Higher)
    The Pheasant SJ527566 Map Link Take a drive down the A49 until you get to Beeston Castle. Then turn right towards the Peckforton Hills . From this point your best bet is to follow the signs to the Cheshire Candle Workshops and the pub is sat on the rising ground. The car park is up behind the pub.
  • Farndon
    The Farndon SJ413545Hash Map Coming from the A55 Chester Ring road drop onto the A41 going south. Just after Waverton fork right towards Saighton and Aldford and pick up the B5130. Follow it until Churton and then turn right towards Farndon and Holt.
    Coming from the Eastwards If you go down the A49 Passed Beeston and Bunbury turn right and travel along the A534, cross A41 at Broxton roundabout, carry on 3 miles, turn Right on B5130 then Left into Farndon. Through the village, past Paul (I was Diana's Rock) Burrell's flower shop on the right , then pub on the left.If you get to the river Dee you've gone too far.

  • Huxley
    The Farmers Arms, Huxley. SJ 505616 Go south on A49, past Tarporley. Turn right at traffic lights at Red Fox Pub (on the right) and continue on A49. After 0.7 mile turn right onto Huxley Lane signposted to Tivertonl. Continue along Huxley Lane for 3 miles through Tiverton passing the Shady Oak pub off to the left. Turn left just after the Huxley Primary School. The turn is signposted Hargreave, Tattenhall and Chester. The Farmers Arms is just 0.4 mile on the left following the turn.
  • Haughton Moss
    The Nag's Head, . SJ580562 Map Link First Off. I believe there is a Nags Head IN Bunbury. This is not where we are going!
    Follow the A49 south Continue on right at the Fox to go down the A49 past Bunbury. At Spurstow turn left ( east) towards Haughton (Moss). Follow the lane for about two miles through the wiggles and the Nags Head is on the left.

  • Tilston
    Carden Arms Tilston near Broxton. Approached from A534(either via A41 or A49 from east). Heading west of Broxton on A534, turn left (south) at Barton on minor road to Tilston via Stretton. Pub at cross-roads in middle of village - opposite another pub (Fox and Hounds). SJ458514 Map Link

Bollington and About.

Beyond Macclesfield at the edge of Cheshire.Lots of up

  • Bollington
    • Adlington Leigh Arms SJ911804 Map Link AdlingtonComing from Macclesfield travel up the A523T Silk road. Continue over 3 roundabouts and the Leigh Arms is at the traffic lights at Adlington.
      Going from Wilmslow - head out along the A5102 towards Poynton but at Dean Row turn right along the B5358 towards Macc and then take a left towards Adlington
    • Bulls Head, Kerridge SJ935771 Map Link from the Tesco's car park in Macclesfield head north towards Stockport. Go straight on at the first roundabout (McDonalds) and turn right at the next roundabout signposted for Bollington. Turn immediately right again (only 20 yds off the roundabout) into Clarke Lane. Follow this road for about 1.5 miles until you see the Bulls Head pub on the right hand side. About 100 yds past the pub is a public car park on the right or you can park on the road. For those travelling from Stockport, proceed through the traffic lights at Adlington & Butley on the A523 and take a left at the second roundabout. Then follow the directions above.
    • The Crown,Church Street, SJ939776 Map Link Pick up the A523 Silk Road in Macclesfield and turn right at the second roundabout (signposted for Bollington). Go all the way through Bollington (past numerous pubs) for about 2.5 miles until you come to a mini roundabout. Turn right into Church Steet, go past the Church House pub and the Crown is on the left hand side. The car park is at the rear.
    • The Cock & Pheasant SJ921773 Map LinkBollington Road B5091, at Bollington Cross. From Alderley go to Prestbury and then over the A523 to Bollington Cross.. From Macc. take the 523 and fork right toward Bollington at Pool End
    • The Redway Tavern. This is now an Ex pub. It has passed on.
    • Poachers Inn, Ingersley Road, Bollington. SJ942778 Map Link From Macclesfield - follow the A523 Silk Road (Macclesfield to Stockport road) northbound and pick up one of the signs for Bollington at the Middlewood pub or Flash Lane roundabouts. Go all the way through the Bollington (past the Wagon & Horses, Dog & Partridge, Spinners and numerous other pubs) until you reach a mini roundabout just past the chip shop. This is the only roundabout in Bollington. You want to go straight on here into Ingersley Road, but the roundabout makes you go left and then immediately right. Travel half a mile and the Poachers Inn is on your right - the car park is just past the pub.
      From Stockport - follow the A523 southbound until you reach the traffic lights at the Legh Arms in Adlington. Turn left and follow the road through Pott Shrigley. Descend down the hill into Bollington and turn left at the mini roundabout. Travel half a mile and the Poachers is on your right - the car park is just past the pub.
      If there is no room in the car park, turn around and park on the road. Lots of great trails and nice beer. Not as hilly as Wincle (but then what is ?).
    • The Vale, Adlington Road. SJ931780 Map Link Pub Website From Macclesfield follow the A523 Silk Road and pick up the signs for Bollington and travel east on the main road through the town. You will pass the Cock & Pheasant pub, go down the hill & past the Co-Op and then under the viaduct. Just after the viaduct bridge you will see the Dog & Partridge pub - turn left here onto Adlington Road. The pub is 200yds down the road on the right.
      There is a turn into the pub car park just past the pub. If this is full there is parking on the road or there is a public car park on the other side of the road a little way back towards the Dog & Partridge
  • Whiteley Green / Bollington
    The Windmill. SJ925788 Map Link Whiteley Green is to the North West of Bollington and can possibly be approached from the A523 Stockport Road to the north of Prestbury. The pub is in Holehouse Lane which is East from the above road. Marstons

Approaching from Wythenshawe and Heald Green cross the A34 and at the next major junction turn right towards Cheadle Hulme along the said B5095. From Wilmslow go through Handforth up the A34 and turn right towards Gillbent and Cheadle Hulme along the B5094 Stanley Road and then left up Gillbent Road to the 5095 on the left fork with Church Road

Chester and about

Parking is best in Chester County Hall/Crown Court carparkIan Says getting to the Chester County Hall/Crown Court carpark in Grosvenor Rd/St Chester (CH1 2AN) and after there is a short walk to The Falcon in Lower Bridge St. The parking is free and the beer Sam Smiths and there may be chips.
      Best route for those coming from the East(ie everybody but me) is M56, M53 to J12,A56 to Chester. Straight across first roundabout, then beware speed cameras. Right at 2nd roundabout onto St.Oswalds Way, Chester inner ring road. Straight over Fountains roundabout onto St Martins Way(flyover). Straight on at lights(Nicholas St).At next roundabout 3rd exit, (signposted N Wales,Lache,Saltney). IMMEDIATELY after see sign County Hall,Crown Court, turn left through Doric columns into carpark.
  • About
    • Foxcote Inn, Little Barrow. SJ470699 Map Link Travelling east from Manchester to Chester along the A556 (Chester Road). The A556 becomes A54 just before Kelsall. Pass The Copper Kettle, over the the roundabout, just after Tarvin, and at the traffic lights a mile further on on the M51 turn right onto the B5132 towards Barrow and Little Barrow. Continue along B5132 through Great Barrow towards Little Barrow. The Foxcote Inn is on the right hand side of the road as Little Barrow is approached. From the M56 come off at Elton towards Alvanley. Turn South to Dunham on the Hill then about a mile after Dunham turn left along the B5132 to Little Barrow.
    • The White Horse, Great Barrow. SJ470685 Map Link Travelling east from Manchester to Chester along the A556 (Chester Road). The A556 becomes A54 just before Kelsall. Pass The Copper Kettle, over the the roundabout, just after Tarvin, and at the traffic lights a mile further on on the M51 turn right onto the B5132 towards Barrow . Continue along B5132 to Great Barrow. From the M56 come off at Elton towards Alvanley.     • The Cheshire Cat, Christleton SJ433658 Map Link he Cheshire Cat is located in Christleton on the A41 Whitchurch to Chester road on the right hand side of the road heading towards Chester. Travelling towards Chester the pub is found shortly before the A41 passes under the A55 (Chester to Queensferry road).The pub is set back from the road but is well signposted.
    • The Headless Woman,Duddon.SJ511648 Map Link On the A51 between Tarvin and Tarporley, from Tarporley head west along the A51, through Clotton and on to Duddon. The pub is a 16th century inn whch has Black Sheep as a guest beer.

Crewe & Nantwich

  • Acton, Nr Nantwich
    • The Star Inn SJ632528 Map Link and the Pub Link CW5 8LD. To all those in Knutsford and the northerly parts of Cheshire please note that it only takes 30 minutes to get to the pub from Knutsford - so no excuses. Straight down the M6 to Jnc 16, follow signs for Chester, after 7 (yes seven if you don't count the one on the M6) roundabouts you'll come to a crossroads controlled by traffic lights. Turn left (for Nantwich) and the Star is about half a mile down on the right. Parking is a little tight so if you arrive late there is a public car park on the left just before the pub. For those from mid or west Cheshire just head to Nantwich and you'll end up at the same traffic lights. Just follow the Nantwich sign
  • Audlem
    • The Shroppie Fly SJ658438 Map Link South of Nantwich, on the banks of the Shropshire Union Canal. Get to it from the M6 J 16 by going West along the A500 to Hough then turn South down the B5071 to Wybunbury, Haterton and then to Audlem. From Nantwich follow the A529 towards Market Drayton
  • Barthomley
    • White Lion SJ768524 Map Link From the M6 take J16 off and take the last exit B5078 towards Alsager then take a left at Radway Green Road towards Barthomley and the pub is on the left(PostCode CW2 5PG) For those coming from Chester.. Take the A51 to Tarvin and then stay on it until Henhull and then turn onto the A500 Nantwich bypass. Stay on here to the M6 J16 and follow the previous direction along the B5078. From Macc - head towards Congleton and then pick up the M6 south to J16
  • Bradfield Green
    • Coach and Horses, Bradfield Green.SJ680588 Map Link From the M6 take J 17 to Middlewich and then take the A530 towards Crewe . Just before the B5076 into Crewe junction is the pub. A little further and you are at Leighton Hospital
      From Winsford go out through Town Fields and continue South East along the B5074 Nantwich Road to Church Minshull. Then go along the B5076 towards Crewe
  • Faddiley
    • Thatch SJ591529Map Link This pub is on the Wrexham Road / A534 midway between the A49 and the A51. Going down the A49 come through Tarporley, Pass Bunbury turnoff and then at the A534 turn East towards Nantwich. If the mood takes you - when you pass the Red Fox at the traffic lights on the A49/A51 junction then continue towards Natwich on the A51 and turn west onto the A534.
      From the M6 the best junction for speed may be J16 and then go along the Westbound A500 (not the D road bit) and straight though Nantwich and along the A534 to Faddiley
  • Winterley
    • The Foresters Arms SJ748578 Map Link From J17 of the M6 go through Sandbach and down the A534 towards Crewe and Nantwich. Pass through Wheelock and at the next rouandabout take the exit for Winterley. Look out for the pubafter about half a mile. From Crewe go out on the A534 towards Sandbach and at the roundabout to Wheelock turn right towards Winterley onto the Crewe Road.
  • Wrenbury
    • The Dusty Miller SJ590480 Map Link This pub is located on the Cholmondley Road,(Wrenbury, Nantwich Cheshire CW5 8HG) Just near the canal bridge at Wrenbury. Coming down the A49 - go past the A534 and in 2 and a half miles turn left towards Wrenbury. After half a mile turn right to stay on the Wrenbury Road. In another 2 mles turn left at the Waterside Cottages. From Nantwich stay on the A530 onto Water Lode and turn left at Welsh Row and very soon left at Marsh Lane and in 2 miles this goes onto Baddiley Lane. Then onto Nantwich Road and Cholmondley Road until you turn right at Waterside Cottages.
  • Haslington
    • The Fox SJ737556 Map Link Haslington is just south off the A534 between Sandbach & Nantwich before you reach Crewe. Travelling south west on the A534 from Sandbach after passing Wheelock turn first left at the roundabout. Continue along this minor road passing through Wheelock Heath, Winterley and into Haslington. Go half way through the village of Haslington and the pub is on the left hand side. Coming at it the other way you can come off the M6 at J16 and go west along the A500 to the next roundabout and turn right along the A5020. At the next roundabout turn right again towards Haslington
  • Hough
    • The White Hart. SJ713512 Map LinkSouth of Crewe on the A500 between M6 J16 and Nantwich The pub is hard to spot if approaching on the westbound A500, but take the 1st Left after the Post Office.
  • Wettenhall
    • The Boot and Slipper SJ626613 Map Link In the middle of a triange subscribed by Winsford, Crewe and Tarporley lies Wettenhall and on Long Lane is the 17th century inn that is the Boot and Slipper. It has an extensive car park. There are several approaches to getting there. Coming down the A49 you could pass the A54 traffic lights to Winsford and continue on to cotebrook and turn towards Little Budworth and Oulton Park then continue through to Wettenhall. From J 18 of the M6 go through Winsfrod to Over and turn down the B5074 toward Church Minshall and just North of there turn West toward wettenhall green and North to Wettenhall. Follow the signs for St David's Church

It has an extensive car park. There are several approaches to getting there. From J 18 of the M6 go through Winsford to Over and turn down the B5074 toward Church Minshall and just North of there turn West toward Wettenhall Green .       From the Macc direction come down the A536 and through Congleton centre and the road is at the traffic lights just as you leave the heavily built up area.

Ignore this and at the Next left (with a southbound junction as well - Head north. An excellent little pub in the middle of nowhere. You need to mind your head on the ceiling though .

At next cross roads down in valley turn left ( Left to Wildboarclough, right to Wincle). Stay on this road heading up the valley- Crag Inn is on your left after 1.5 miles.

Beware you won't see The Old Rectory until you've passed it or gone well into the car park. A lot of up & down. Torches advisable.

      • The Miners Arms SJ936817 Map Link To the SouthEast of Poynton. There are a number of ways reach this pub, most of which involve going through Poynton. One way would be to get on the A34 (Handforth Bypass) then turn East onto the A555 (Manchester Airport Eastern Link Road) towards Poynton. Turn right at the roundabout onto the A5102 (Woodford Road). Turn left at the next roundabout onto the A5149 (Chester Road). Follow Chester Road for 1.6 miles to the traffic lights in the centre of Poynton. Turn right at the lights along the A523 (London Road South) and then left onto Dickens Lane. Follow Dickens Lane all the way to the end. The road turns sharply right at the top and becomes Moggie Lane. Follow Moggie Lane to the end and turn left at the T-Junction onto Wood Lane West. After half a mile, turn left onto Wood Lane North and the Miner’s Arms is immediately on the left hand side. If you are coming from other directions, you could head to Poynton traffic lights and follow the above directions from there.
        If coming from the south- ie Macc- turn right off the A523 at the Legh Arms in Adlington; take the first left ( Roundy Lane). Go left at the next fork then right at the green triangle- Booth Green Farm, following the signpost to Wood Lanes. After 1 km road swings round to left on right angled bend – go straight on here to Wood lane north and pub

Go north on the A523. Turn left on to the A6 and right at the next traffic lights on to the A627. This road ends at a traffic light, T-junction. Turn right on to the A626. Straight ahead at the next lights (not left). In Marple turn left at the retirement homes ( used to be the Jolly Sailor) (still on the A626) and on through Marple Bridge. At a sharp right hand bend, go straight ahead onto the B6104 to Compstall.

If a Harley Davidson outlet is on your left you have gone one junction too far.. Follow A626 towards Marple for around 3 miles. Continue straight down bendy hill at signals (with A627 to Hazel Grove) still following signs for Marple. At next signals, only 300 metres down hill with trees on both sides, turn left to A627 to Bredbury/Romiley. The pub is at the bottom of the hill on the left. From Wilmslow/Bramhall/Poynton direction, take A523 north towards Hazel Grove. At junction with A6 Buxton Road, turn left onto A6 towards Stockport, then next right onto A627 towards Marple. At next signals turn right towards Marple, then at next signals, only 300 metres down hill with trees on both sides, turn left to A627 to Bredbury/Romiley. The pub is at the bottom of the hill on the left.

In about 400 yards go right into Hibbert Lane the take the 1st exit at the roundabout onto Church Lane. The pub is next to the canal and the car park is on the right immediately after the pub.
      From Macc go up the A538 the up the A6 and onto the A627 towards Marple and Mellor. Finally you will join the A626 and then follow the above along the Stockport Road. From Knusford you can also go across to Wilmslow and to Poynton before picking up the A627.
  • Marple Bridge

      From Knutsford you can go through Mobberley to Wilmslow. From Wilmslow go out East on the A5102 through Dean Row towards Poynton but before you get there take the A523 towards Hazel Grove. At Hazel Grove go east on the A627 to Offerton Green and the right onto the A626 through Marple Straight ahead at the next lights (not left). In Marple turn left at the Jolly Sailor (still on the A626) and on to Marple Bridge and then go straight on towards Compstall at the bend in the road.
      From Macclesfield. Go north on the A523. Turn left on to the A6 and right at the next traffic lights on to the A627. This road ends at a traffic light, T-junction. Turn right on to the A626 and follow previous set of instructions

Once in Marple - Turn left at traffic lights (New Somerfield petrol station being built on your right) into Station Road, follow this road down into Marple Bridge and before the next traffic lights (Town Street) turn right into the car park. Approaching from the other direction then go past Town Street lights and just after the pub on the way up the hill turn left into the car park

Warrington

A large town in North Cheshire. It used to be a big brewing centre with Tetley Walkers and Greenalls but both breweries have been closed. The brewing involvement is kept up by Coach House Brewery which produces an excellent range of Real Ales. To the Northwest of Warrington lies Burtonwood where the brewery still stands though the original brand has now been bought by Wolves and Dudley Brewery.

After about a mile the road comes to a steep right bend and the pub is on the right. From the M56 J10 head towards Warrington turn left at the lights after the Cat and Lion and follow the above.
  • Burtonwood
    • The Bridge Inn SJ565928Map Link This small village, original home of Burtonwood Brewery, (now owned by Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries) is in Cheshire. It surprised me but there it is!. The Bridge is in Phipps Lane in the centre of the Village. To get to Burtonwood there are a couple of choices.
      Either through Warrington up the A49 or to J9 of the M62 go up the A49 to Winwick Chrurch and then turn left towards Burtonwood. Pass what is left of Winwick Hospital and then cross the Railway Bridge and Pass the 'Fiddle i' th' Bag'. Then at the T junction turn left and follow this through to the centre of the Village. Turn at the Elm Tree. and the car park is shared between the pubs
      Another choice would be to go along the M62 to the New access ( for IKEA and M n S) Immediately after the Burtonwood services. Go North from here and take a left at a fork towards Burtonwood Village. Turn down next to the Elm Tree and then right into the car park which is shared with the Elm Tree

This is a club but has been the site of a couple of runs.Good on Real Ale.
  • Houghton Green

      Navigation :- The way to get to it is from the A57 from J21 of the M6. Go towards Warrington and through Woolston and Paddington until you reach the Kingsway Lights (A50) and travel North (turn Right) here. Go past the next lights and then at the following lights (The Co-op is on your left) fork right. Continue along this road for abount 1km and then turn left at the mini roundabout to take you over the railway bridge and keep the left lane. Go over the next roundabout. Through the traffic lights and then over the next roundabout and at the following roundabout Balleter Drive is the left turn. Go along here for about 20 yards and go into the pub car park on the right. If you reach the motorway bridge then you have gone too far.
      Coming from the M62 J 9 onto the A49 south - towards Warrington - turn immediately left and follow the road to the large roundabout and turn left towards Cinnamon Brow. At the next roundabout turn left and then left at the next roundabout as above.

      Navigation :- The way to get to it is from the A57 from J21 of the M6. Travel along past the Lord Daresbury and then over the roundabout ignoring the A558 . Take the next small road on the left and over the canal and turn left to the pub

  • Penketh

Go up that road past Bank Quay railway station and then turn left at the traffic lights. Go along the A57/A562 towards Widnes and Liverpool Airport. At the end of the dual carriageway take the A562 left from the roundabout continuing towards Widnes. Continue to the left at the next roundabout and keep a watch for Tanners Lane on the left. There will be a sign for the Fiddlers Ferry Yacht Haven. Follow it . About 500 metre down there is a right still signed to the Yacht Haven. Stay on the road to the end and there is a car park on the left just before the railway line.
  • Stockton Heath

Coming from the M6 Junction 20 go down tha A50 Knutsford Road, across Latchford swinf bridge and continue straight on. You will pass Thomas Boteler School on the left and further along will pass Victoria Park on the right. Keep on to Bridge Foot - keep to the left at the lights and turn left onto the A5060 and then right at the lights and over the blue bridge into Centre Park. Take the next right and right into the car park. From the M56 Junction 10 go down the A49 through Stockton Heath and then along wilderspool Causeway. Travel along until the end and turn left over the bridge and then right into the pub car park. Park up along the edge.

Whitchurch

    Well - go down the A49 passing Bickley Moss You could go down the M6 to Junction 16 (A500) and turn towards Crewe and Nantwich but then the simplest is to continue along the A534 and then south down the A49
  • Blue Bell Inn,Bell o' th' Hill,Tushingham, SJ523455 Hash Map With apologies to Karen, Bridget and friends in the NE, this run is about as far SW as we can go, and actually touches Shropshire at one point. Take the A49 south. About 4 miles north of Whitchurch, turn right to Bickley, towards A41. Turn left onto A41 and take second right to Bell o' th' Hill. Pub is 1/4 mile on left.

Continue on till you reach fourway and go straight over towards Wincle and Danbridge From the South and the A54 Congleton to Buxton Road go through Cleulow Cross When you reach the Motel at fourways turn south to Wincle. Continue down the hill and up the hill and then pass a turn off. Continue on and the pub is on the left. Park carefully along the road rather than fill up the small car park used by regulars
