Cheshire Cat
Cheshire Hash House Harriers

Cheshire is a mixed hash going on a Tuesday night at 7:45, summer or winter. Trails are usually set in advance from a pub (with which Cheshire is well endowed after you ignore the Greenhall ones) using chalk and paper along roads and footpaths. We mostly, by luck or sk*ll, end up back at the pub where the non-drivers partake of some liquid refreshment.

The beginnings of the CH3 according to Allan Jones......Our Founder

"On the day my wife passed her driving test I was made redundant! So..bye-bye Brighton, hello Manchester. More importantly, bye-bye Sussex Vale Hash!!

In 1982 nothing similar was available to the north of Telford. So.. I was creative

You would be amazed at how many people, when told about Hashing said "Great!", but when given a start date said "Ahhhh, ummmm, errh, sorry but....!!"

Still , we survive and my thanks to all those who said "Great!" TWICE. "

{Came to Cheshire having run with (from) the Brighton Hash. He started CH3 on the 18th May 1982 with the grand total of 5 runners. (Himself, Mervyn Harvey, Tony Newman, Keith Skelhorn and Ralph Atherton). Within 3 weeks this had dropped to 4 hashers but from then on it picked up The pub was known at the time as "The Gay Dog" at Peover Heath, though these days it is named "The Dog"

Allan had at May 2001 had set the trail on average once in every four appearances (162 times in 702 trails. But see Stats for more recent details
